Partnerships
The CD6 (Centre for development of sensors, instruments and systems) is a technological innovation center established in 1997 with the aim of fostering the R+D activities in the field of Optical Engineering developed in the Terrassa Campus of the Technical University of Catalonia. The collaboration with CD6 & UPC has been maintained over time resulting in 13 collaboration agreements, and the generation of two patent families. We are also collaborating as teachers within the master’s degree of photonics taught by the university.


PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) is the National Metrology Institute of Germany with scientific and technical service tasks. PTB measures with the highest accuracy and reliability – metrology as the core competence. PTB stands for progress and reliability in metrology for the benefit of society, trade and industry, and science. Sensofar maintains close collaboration with PTB providing systems and developing technology for the traceability and design of new metrology standards.

The Manufacturing Metrology Team is carrying out the fundamental research to enable the next-generation of offline and online metrology tools for advanced manufacturing methods including: precision manufacturing, additive manufacturing and high dynamic range manufacturing. Working on the research of the specification of metrological characteristics of Confocal microscopy for the measurement of additive manufacturing technologies. Sensofar also maintains a long-term relationship with professor Richard Leach to conduct PhD works and to write books on optical metrology.
